It’s fall, y’all! That means it’s time for hay rides, pumpkin patches, and apple picking. Since your horse can’t go to the orchard with you, bring the apples to him with this super-easy recipe for stuffed apples. Your horse will love this no-bake apple treat—and it takes less than 30 minutes to make!
While this recipe contains only horse-safe ingredients, be sure to speak with your vet to discuss any concerns and make sure your horse can safely eat whole apples.
Ingredients
◆ 6 apples
◆ ½ cup sweet feed
◆ ½ cup oats
◆ ½ cup grated carrots
◆ 1 tbsp honey
◆ 1 tbsp molasses
Materials
◆ Melon scoop
◆ Mixing bowl & spoon
Instructions
Step 1: Wash apples.
Step 2: Using the melon scoop, remove the core, seeds, and inner part of the apple. Set aside.
Step 3: Mix sweet feed, oats, carrots, molasses, and honey in bowl until combined.
Step 4: Scoop oat mixture into apples and press gently until filled.
Step 5: Refrigerate until it’s time to give one to your horse. (Plenty left to share with your barn friends!)
