DIY Horsey Bath Bombs

It’s always perfect time to relax with some lavender bath bombs. These are not your ordinary bath treats—these DIY bath bombs have a horsey surprise inside. Make a batch for yourself or package them to give to your barn buddies—they make perfect gifts!

Materials

â—† 1 cup baking soda

◆ ½ cup lavender Epsom salts

◆ ½ cup citric acid

â—† Witch hazel spray

â—† Olive oil spray

â—† Lavender (optional)

â—† Small toy horses

â—† Extra large (3.15″) bath bomb aluminum molds

The materials needed for this project.

Instructions

Step 1: Spray each bath bomb mold with olive oil spray and wipe out excess. Set aside. Add a little lavender to the middle of one side of the molds to add a little something extra to your bath bombs.

Step 2: Mix together baking soda, citric acid, and Epsom salts. You can also add a little lavender to the mix if you want your bath bomb to have an extra detail on top.

Step 3: Add the witch hazel (about 10-15 sprays) until your mixture resembles Kinetic Sand and clumps when pressed but still easily breaks apart.

Step 4: Fill each mold with the mixture, pressing lightly with a spoon as you add in the mixture. Don’t forget to add your horse about halfway through! Then cover with the bath bomb mixture.

Step 5: Spray each side with witch hazel (one squirt) and carefully press together. Let sit for about 2 hours before gently removing the mold (tap, don’t twist!).

Step 6: Let your bath bombs sit out for 24 hours to solidify, then enjoy!

Tip: When making bath bombs, there are a lot of variables that can determine the outcome of your bath bombs that are out of your control, like humidity. Don’t be discouraged if they don’t turn out the first time. The best part: you can reuse bath bombs that don’t turn out. Just empty out your molds, add a little more witch hazel, and try again. Best of luck!
